Donald R. Canada - 11/23/1959 - 01/10/2020
Mr. Donald Ray Canada, 60, of Scarbro, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2020 after a long illness. He was born in Beckley. WV on November 23, 1959 to Andrew Sr. and Lillie Evans Canada.
Donnie loved the Lord. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed writing listening to music and spending time with his family. He was a devout WVU Mountaineers and Washington Redskins fan. He was a wealth of information on sports but, his main interest was reading the Bible. He had a great collection of Bibles as well as spiritual books. Though he endured a lot of suffering, he remained strong in his faith. He always dreamed of traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Wandell Cheese and Frank Canada Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and faithful sisters, Irma Anderson, Janet Canada, Annette Gore, Donna Calloway, Gloria Greene and Joyce Addison. He also leaves behind his brothers, David Canada, James Cheese, Charles Cheese, Andrew Canada Sr., Stewart Canada, Lynn Canada, Marvin Cheese, and Lamont Canada and a host of nieces nephews cousins other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 1:00PM Friday, January 17, 2020 at Spirit & Truth Ministries 100 Main St. W. Oak Hill, WV with Bishop James Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
Elder Andrew Daniel Jones - 08/07/1953 - 02/09/2019
Elder Andrew Daniel Jones, 65, of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, February 8, 2019 after a short illness. He was born on August 7, 1953 to the late Bishop Philip H. and Pastor Cleopatra Jones, in Glen Jean, WV.
He worked as a mechanic for the Raleigh County Memorial Airport, retiring after forty years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Philip H. Jones, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, of forty-six years, Gladys Marie Beard Jones of Beckley; son, Shaun Jones of SC; daughter, Danielle Thompson of Christiansburg, VA; grandchildren, Kishaun Jones, Taylee Payne and Isiah Jones, all of Beckley; brothers, Michael (Kay) Jones of Aiken, SC and James (Delena) Jones of Beckley; sisters, Evelyn Jones, Carolyn Coats, Yvonne Law, Donita (Charles) Beard, Cheryl (Raymond) Hutchens, all of Beckley, Phyllis (Paul) Honeycutt of Dunbar, Drema Hackett of IN and Rhonda (Stanley) Dean of St. Albans and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral service will be 12:00PM Friday, February 15, 2019 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 South Kanawha St., Beckley with Bishop Fred T Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. James Jones Jr., 30, of Beckley, WV, died Monday, February 6, 2017. Born August 12, 1986 in Charleston, WV, he was the son of Bishop James Sr. and Delena Mays Jones of Beckley, WV. Mr. Jones worked as a laborer in the construction industry and was a member of Apostolic Lighthouse Deliverance Temple, Beckley, WV.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Philip Jones and Raymond Mays; grandmother, Cleopatra Jones; and uncle, Philip Jones Jr.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish precious memories are his sister, Brandi NaShae Jones of Charleston, WV and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral service will be 12 P.M. Monday, February 13, 2017 at Apostolic Lighthouse Deliverance Temple, 121 Morgan St., Beckley, WV with Bishop Clifton Thorp officiating. Cynthia Evans - October 2, 1952 - January 14, 2015
Cynthia Ann Evans (Gilbert), October 2, 1952 - January 14, 2015, Atlanta, GA Cynthia Ann Evans, 62 passed away on Wednesday, January 14th, 2015 at home in hospice care after waging a lengthy valiant battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Herman and Lyvonia Evans of Mount Hope, W.V. where she grew up as one of 13 siblings in a large loving family. Cynthia lived in Columbus, OH before moving to Atlanta in 1994 where she met her loving spouse and best friend, Phillip Lee Gilbert. Cynthia was a perfectionist in all that she did. She was an excellent cook, a knowledgeable antique collector and decorator, and had a green thumb beyond compare. Cynthia loved and was loved by all who met her. She loved unconditionally and had that ability to compartmentalize trouble and not let it affect her or her loved ones harmony. She was a rock and inspiration to all. She was preceded in passing by her parents, brother James Jr. and sisters Maria and Donna "Missy". She is survived by her spouse Phillip, daughter Tracy Shuford, son David B. Hannah, grandchildren Javonnie and Jacob Shuford, Marquise, Lexie and Arianna Hannah, Malcom and Morrice Scott, sisters Linda Bell and Justine Slaughter, brothers Lawrence, David and Richard all of Columbus, OH, Roger Evans of Cincinnati, John Evans of Norfolk, VA, Edgar C. Evans and Lorenzo Evans of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 24th at 12 p.m. at Living Faith Tabernacle, 5880 Old Dixie Highway, Forest Park, GA 30297. Norman L. Evans - March 7, 1926 - June 22, 2013
Norman Lindsey Evans was born on March 7, 1926 in Sun, West Virginia to the late Calvin Edgar Evans and Ida Mildred Evans Penn. He departed this life on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 6:45 a.m. at The Meadows Nursing Home. Norman was united in Holy Matrimony to Ramona Hite in 1974. To this union, he inherited nine children.
Norman was a plumber at Kimmey Plumbing in Forest Park, Ohio until he retired in 2005. He was a Trustee and Bass Guitar Player under the leadership of the late Bishop Frank Downs for many years and then under the leadership of Bishop James Price. He served faithfully until he and Mother Evans relocated to North Carolina in 2006 to live with Mother Evans son, Myron Hite and his family. He and Mother Evans was under the watch care of Greater Grace Ministries, Bishop Charles A. Lockett, Sr. In May, 2012, Trustee Evans and Mother Evans health began to fail them and they decided to move back to Ohio.
Trustee Evans was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Ramona Evans; his brothers, Louis, Lorenzo and Herman Evans; and his sisters, Cleopatra, Inease, Louise and Lillie. He leaves to cherish his memory: one sister, Edith Marie Jones of Columbus, OH; seven sons and three daughters, John Lee Richard of Cincinnati, OH, Dwight Eugene Richard (Mary Tess) of Longopo, Philippines, Elder Ronald Ferris Richard (Bertha) of Southampton, NY, Diane Smith (Carl) of Cincinnati, OH, Pastor Barbara Ann Lockett (Bishop Charles) of Charlotte, NC, Deacon Robert Jeffrey Hite (Karen) of Cincinnati, OH, Minister Tracy Michelle Lee (Gregory) of Cincinnati, OH, Myron Jonathan Hite (Angela) of Winston Salem, NC, Carlos Richard of Cincinnati, OH and Robert Evans of Cincinnati, OH; 56 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

Carol Cheese passed June 30, 2013, at home in Hackensack, NJ. Born in New Brunswick, she has been a resident of Hackensack, the past 4 yrs. She was employed as a nurse's aide at the Hartwyck of Cedarbrook Nursing home..Predeceased by her father George Hoover, brother Colbert & sister Angela Cheese she is survived by her mother Joyce, brothers Dion, Robert, Artis, sisters Renee J., and Carla Cheese.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, 11am at the Judkins Colonial Home in Plainfield.

Lillie Emma Jane Canada - January 27, 1920 - August 2, 2011
Lillie Canada, 91, of Scarbro, WV, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Canada, Sr., three brothers: Louis Evans, Herman Evans, and Lorenzo Evans; three sisters: Inease Perry, Cleopatra Jones, and Louise Canada.
Lillie was born on January 27, 1920, in Meade Poke, WV. She was a loving mother and a homemaker. Lillie was baptized in May 1987 at the Greater Emanuel Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Beckley.

Homegoing service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011, at Heart of God Ministries, Beckley, WV, at 2 p.m., with Bishop James Jones, Dr. Fred T. Simms, and Pastor Sam Calloway. Visitation and viewing will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers; granddaughters will serve as flower girls.

Catrena Canada, affectionately known as "Mabe", has passed. She was the granddaughter of late Elder Louise Canada and daughter of Trena Canada. The last rites will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011.
